Health Research, Inc. (HRI), a not-for-profit corporation, seeks a Peer Navigator Consultant.  The consultant will assist the Post Overdose Team (PORT) staff by conducting outreach, escorts and other supportive services for people at risk of opioid overdose. The consultant will provide direct services to individuals who have either experienced multiple overdoses, and/or had a family member or friend recently pass away due to overdose. The consultant work is completed primarily in the field as it involves escorting people from their homes to medical offices, harm reduction programs, and other health care providers.

The peer navigator consultant must have experience providing services to people who use drugs in a harm reduction setting. Knowledge of resources for individuals using drugs and living with mental illness in NYC. Experience working with diverse communities including people of color, youth, LGBTQ individuals, men who have sex with men, people who engage in sex work, people with mental illness and people who actively use drugs. Lived experience is preferred. The consultant must have the ability to travel frequently using subways and buses around all five boroughs of NYC (transportation costs will be covered).
